The Techie hub of Kerala, Kochi has witnessed many flash mobs in the past. They have seen Infoparkians dancing to promote events. They have seen flash mobs for a cause. This was different. A group of fifty techies of RapidValue assembled all of a sudden, to surprise and amuse the people in Infopark, with an outstanding dance performance. The flash mob was conducted on 20th of January 2016, to promote the largest hackathon ever in the state, Techathon. Well, who else could promote a technology event other than the techies themselves?
The Right Mix of Music
The flash mob was conducted at two hot spots of Infopark, Athulya and Carnival. The event timing was selected during Infopark companies’ break time, to get maximum audience. The performance included music from various languages – English, Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil.
The flash mob started with the entire RapidValue’s dancers gathering together and performing on “we will rock you” song. The next was the dance by the women’s group , the most captivating performance of the entire flashmob. The beautifully choreographed performance of an evergreen Bollywood hit song ‘ek do teen’, fascinated the audience with the utmost perfection and synchronization of our wonderful dancers. Next performance was by the men at RapidValue, full beat popular Malayalam song for all the lalettan fans.
This was followed by our lead dancer, Thanseal Ahir with a dance on Bollywood peppy number.
Our best Bangara dancers, Manjit Singh and Saurabh Bahree along with other Rapidites rocked the show.
Next was the most entertaining performance of the flash mob, performance by Tom and team for a latest Malayalam song. We also had Sharad Dhingra dressed as an Arabian, with his group who danced on a rhythmic Malayalam number.
The final three songs were performed by the entire dancers, two peppy tamil songs and by all the PSY fans, Gangnam style. Yes, we had saved the best for the last!
Great Learning Experience
The three weeks practice by Rapidites was a wonderful experience. During our practice session, our CTO, Rinish would order soft drinks and pizzas for us. It was a kind gesture.
It was the team work, behind the scene, which made flash mob successful. It gave many new joiners like me, a chance to interact with together. It was a great team bonding experience. I met a passionate dancer, Thanseal. I observed the tremendous patience of Soniya, to teach steps to the novice dancers, Jithin’s attitude of dancing with happiness and smiles throughout the dance, the confidence of Ashwini in every single dance step, the positive attitude of Divya in her moves and the good spirit of new comers (dancers), Vinay and Sobin. Every single dancer did their best to bring in smile to the audience.
We created history by conducting the largest consecutive flash mob by techies, ever organized in Infopark. I am sure the people in Infopark had a great time!
